About us…

Danfords Goldens is located in Dallas Georgia, on the northwest side of Atlanta. Michelle and I (Phil) Pagliarulo have been married for more than 30 years and have been incredibly blessed with our wonderful children ranging from 12 to 29 years old. We are originally from Long island, New York, where we met and got married. One of our fondest memories is the day we were engaged at a beautiful harbor side restaurant called Danfords in Port Jefferson. This being one of our favorite places on the Island, the name Danfords Goldens was born.

Our love for Retrievers goes back to our childhood when we both had rescued dogs. I rescued my first stray dog “Lady”. She was a long haired collie and in my 4 year old mind she needed a new home. I wasn’t sure how to break it to mom and dad at the time, so I kept her in the garage. Well… it was the middle of winter and we were hit with a large snow storm, after several days of being locked in the garage, my dad opened the door to a very large anxious Collie jumping and knocking him to the ground. After some convincing they agreed we could keep her. Little did we know that she was pregnant and after several months we were surprised with 6 new little pups (My first venture into breeding 🙂 ). My wife had a similar rescue story with an adorable black Lab called “Elijah”. Michelle’s dad was a police officer and rescued him from a burning house when he was just a few weeks old. Dogs have been a part of our lives for as long as I can remember. We still reminisce about all the fond memories they brought to us and our families.

About 5 years ago we lost our beautiful Golden “Gabby” after 14 years. I can remember both Michelle and I crying like babies in the vet when we had to say goodbye. She was a part of each of ours and our children’s lives throughout their childhood years. After a couple of years, I found myself really missing having my girl around. My sister Debbie Covic is a breeder and the owner of “Crescent Valley Goldens” in Texas, she was a tremendous blessing and gave me our newest addition “Tia”. She quickly became my girl. At that point we decided we wanted to start breeding these wonderful dogs. We fell in love with the English Cream Goldens for there temperament and personality along with there beautiful structure and blocky heads 🙂 also, the pups have to be the most adorable little white balls of fluff we have ever seen.
